BIO
Tiziana Krüger (*1991 in Herford) studied communication design at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Photography Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Her multi-media approach includes photography, installation and sculpture. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts in Shanghai, as part of UNSEEN Amsterdam and most recently at Zachęta, National Gallery of Art in Warsaw.Tiziana Krüger lives and works in Berlin.
In her artistic practice, Tiziana Krüger deals with the investigation of dichotomous spaces. She is interested in the ambivalence of things and themes that evoke contradictory feelings. The hard becomes fragile, the organic artificial, and the subtle comes into focus. The motif of borders is a recurring theme: What are borders? Who created them? What power structures are hidden behind them? And what are the consequences? A supposed danger emanating from the object, a site-specific intervention or the temptation to interact with the work create atmospheres in which subtle tensions and interrelationships between object, space and viewer can arise.
