BIO
Marina Stanimirovic (*1988, France) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She studied Contemporary Jewellery in Paris and holds a master degree from the Royal College of Art, in London (2013).
Her practice is rooted in personal experiences and evolves toward collective narratives. Marina explores contemporary issues of humanity and society by addressing concepts such as heritage, societal constructs, violence, and universal experiences like loss and grief. Through spatial arrangements of materials, made and found objects, Marina Stanimirovic creates scenes and intervenes by integrating photographs, poems, videos, and/or sound experiments. References to the banal, everyday life and standardised objects, are conscious gestures of re-appropriation, using humor or irony.
From 2022-2004, she co-directed the Berlin based project space GR_UND.
In 2022, created the platform DERIVAT 0,99.
